Hello! My name is Kellina Doerr and I am a food scientist, turned teacher, turned user experience designer.

I graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2018 with a Bachelors of Science in Food Science and Technology. As a student, I learned about processing, product development and consumer protection. I was initially drawn to the fight against world hunger and creating a sustainable food system. Wanting to make an impact in my community ultimately led me to apply to be a teacher with Teach for America (TFA).

I spent the years of 2018-2020 teaching special education at two middle schools in the Bronx. During my time in TFA I learned how to adapt to any situation, collaborate with colleagues and communicate with multi-lingual families. Being a special educator highlighted the importance accessibility and has impacted the way I navigate the world around me and create my designs.

In March of 2020, I began to learn the processes  of UX Design and create my first project, MyClass. After completing MyClass, I continued to learn about the latest in design trends and stumbled upon AR. I am currently working on an app that will use AR to help shoppers purchase groceries that are on their list, while also informing them about the nutritional value of those products.

I am open to all professional opportunities. Please feel free to contact me at any of the links listed!
